How to save a beat?

Beat Makers That Sound Professional

Cuz I’m going to be buying a drum machine, and hook it up to my computer, but how do I save it. What program can I use to save it. Can I us Audicity. Cuz I have that program. I hope I can use Audicity. Can I? Or what program do I need to save a beat,if free or cheap program, and what is the best?
Regarding saving to fruity loops, can I hook up a drum machine and save a beat I make to fruity loops, and also can I do this on the demo version, cuz I don’t have enough for the full version,if not I can save up my money and get it but for now can I make beats from a drum machine and save it to fruity loops on the demo version.
